Kevin Watts wins pro boxing debut

Kevin Watts, son of Gary and Niecy Watts, grand son of Sandra Arnold, great-grand son of Thelsey & Edwina Fuller won his professional boxing debut at the Chumash Resort Casino in Santa Ynez, California on Friday, 14 June 2013.

"In an entertaining bout, Kevin Watts used hard power shots to counter the boxing skills of Donte Strayhorn. Both fighters had their moments but it was Watts who landed the harder blows wining a majority decision in his pro debut. Scorecards read 38-38, 39-37 for Watts. Donte Strayhorn (1-1) – Kevin Watts (1-0)"

"Junior welterweight Kevin Watts was successful in his professional debut, winning a four round majority decision over Donte Strayhorn (1-1). The shorter Watts was effective in throwing and landing lead or counter right hands to the head of Strayhorn. Watts had a huge fourth round, hurting Strayhorn twice with repeated right hands to the head. To his credit, Strayhorn was able to make it to the final bell. One judge scored the bout 38-38, but the other two judges and Boxingscene.com scored the bout 39-37 for Watts."
