Elder abuse in the US goes across all racial, ethnic, cultural and political lines...
Here's an example: "...up to 5 million elders victimized by financial abuse in the United States, according to the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA), a program of the U.S. Administration on Aging. As many as 2 million seniors are mistreated by family members or others they depend on for protection."

Also, what we must remember is elder abuse can take several forms... psychological, physical, and financial. And those that are entrusted with the responsibility to do something to prevent, investigate and prosecute these abuses pretty much sit on their asses counting their thirty pieces of silver... the abusers going unaccountable for the crimes and abuses that they visit upon the most vunerable persons in our society.
