Lak decision; Attorney Roasted

Introduction1

In this original disciplinary proceeding, the Office of the Chief Trial Counsel of the State of Bar of California (State Bar) charged Daniel Kristof Lak (respondent) with a total of eight counts of misconduct in three matters. The charges include failing to perform legal services with competence, failing to inform a client of significant developments, moral turpitude –  misrepresentation to a client, failing to render accounts of client funds, practicing law while suspended, misusing a client trust account, failing to maintain respect for the court, and seeking to mislead a judge. The court finds respondent culpable on all counts and after considering the facts and the law recommends, among other things, that respondent be suspended from the practice of law for a period of two years and until he provides proof to the State Bar Court of his rehabilitation, fitness to practice, and learning and ability in the general law.

The Wisdom of Psychopaths

Right off the top, this post is dedicated to Robert Lewis Fuller, Doris Aleda Fuller and their attorney; Daniel Kristof Lak.

"In this engrossing journey into the lives of psychopaths and their infamously crafty behaviors, the renowned psychologist Kevin Dutton reveals that there is a scale of “madness” along which we all sit. Incorporating the latest advances in brain scanning and neuroscience, Dutton demonstrates that the brilliant neurosurgeon who lacks empathy has more in common with a Ted Bundy who kills for pleasure than we may wish to admit, and that a mugger in a dimly lit parking lot may well, in fact, have the same nerveless poise as a titan of industry.

Dutton argues that there are indeed “functional psychopaths” among us—different from their murderous counterparts—who use their detached, unflinching, and charismatic personalities to succeed in mainstream society, and that shockingly, in some fields, the more “psychopathic” people are, the more likely they are to succeed. Dutton deconstructs this often misunderstood diagnosis through bold on-the-ground reporting and original scientific research as he mingles with the criminally insane in a high-security ward...,"

The Wisdom of Psychopaths - Kevin Dutton

"When you hear the word psychopath what do you think of?

Probably some brutal serial killer who is out of his mind.

Right?

What if I told you that psychopaths can function at extremely high levels and succeed in all levels of society?"

Only a psychopath would abuse, misuse and rob their parents and believe that they are truly justified by their deeds and not feel a shred of guilt but, instead infinite bravado, charm, ruthlessness, fearlessness, focus, coolness under pressure, a lack of conscience and empathy... very high intelligence.

Former Judge Faces More Charges in Elder Abuse Case

"A Forest Grove attorney, already accused in an elder abuse case against his former mother-in-law, has been arrested again and is facing more charges in the case along with new charges related to his mother, the Forest Grove Police Department reported.

Last year, Robert A. Browning, 67, was indicted on seven counts of first-degree criminal mistreatment related to his former mother-in-law, Laura Sullivan. A Washington County grand jury this week indicted Browning on 14 counts of first-degree criminal mistreatment, said Capt. Mike Herb, a Forest Grove police spokesman.

The indictment, Herb said, is the result of a two-year investigation into Browning in connection with the financial exploitation of Sullivan and his mother, Josephine “Alice” Browning. Both victims have died, Herb said."

Elder Abuse, Financial Elder Abuse are serious crimes and just because the victim has died that doesn't mean the suspects should not be brought to justice.  Browning a former Judge, resigned in January 2011.
